A Japanese lacquered table-top cabinet of shodana form, the roof decorated in low relief (hiromaki-e), with central shou motif and winged beasts to the corners, the front with an asymmetrical arrangement of six variously shaped shelves, one with spindle balustrade, over two drawers and a two-door cupboard with high relief (takamaki-e) landscape, the backing boards with similar decoration, above a long frieze drawer, the sides also geometrically pierced over relief panels decorated with Buddhistic symbols, 15" x 5.5" x 17" high, (38cm x 14cm x 43cm).
