Lot Description

A late Victorian Arts & Craft oak box settle reputedly carved by Ann Musgrove, apprenticed to Arthur W Simpson of Kendal. Having a moulded top rail pierced with five fielded ogee arched panels, the central example carved with tulips and centred by monogram AM and date 1900, flanked by panels of poppies, the shaped sides with broad flat armrests framing a hinged box seat on a two-panel front. 61.75" x 23.5" x 50" (157cm x 59.5cm x 127cm) high
