A demantoid garnet and ruby lizard stick pin. The graduated demantoid garnet body with circular ruby cabochon eyes. One paste replacement stone. Length of lizard 2.6cms.

Condition Report
The lot is in fair overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. One paste replacement. Small number of possible replacements. Please see important notices in the back of the catalogue for Coloured Gemstones. The garnets are well matched, with vibrant yellowish green and more muted slightly brownish green hues. Only some of the green gems exhibit diagnostic horsetail inclusions, remaining gems are similar enough in colour to assume all are demantoid garnets except for one which may be a replacement paste. All the green gems have moderate-significant abrasion. The rubies are well matched with purplish red hue. The lizard is mostly a white metal with yellow metal backing. 473 in engraved to the back of the lizards tail. Length of stickpin 6.5cms. Unhallmarked. Weight 2.7gms.
