A late 19th century gold, amethyst and split pearl brooch. The circular-shape amethyst, within a split-pearl eight claw surround. Approximate amethyst weight 38cts. Unhallmarked. Length 3.4cms. Weight 17.8gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The clasp has been replaced, with minor soft solder evident. The pin is a base metal replacement, with green discolouration. There are surface blemishes and wear to the gilt finish evident to the sides of the split pearl mounts. The split pearls are a moderately well matched, slightly creamy grey body colour with typical surface blemishes. Please see important notices in the back of the catalogue for Coloured Gemstones. The amethyst is a medium purple hue with good clarity and moderate colour zoning, visible face-up. The amethyst has minor-moderate abrasion. Unhallmarked. Weight 17.8gms.
