Lot Description
A late Victorian paste brooch, circa 1880. The domed purple paste within a raised foliate and engraved double surround, with glazed panel to the reverse. Unhallmarked. Diameter 3.9cms. Weight 13.7gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in poor to fair overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. There are more significant dents visible to front and back with areas of tarnish and discolouration. The clasp is a replacement. The pin is bent, the hinge casing is torn and the hinge is indented. There is an area of soft solder repair to the rim. The central gem is missing. One of the raised leaves is repaired. The paste shows significant abrasion. Touchstone tests as 15ct gold.
