Lot Description
A Victorian silver christening mug with engraved decoration, scroll handle and beaded detail, hallmarked Hilliard & Thomason Birmingham 1866. Together with a George III silver sauce ladle hallmarked John Lias II London 1813 and an early twentieth century silver Capstan inkwell with personal engraving, hallmarked Asprey & Co Ltd Birmingham 1911. Condition Report
All pieces show general scratches, marks and wear. The ladle is especially tarnished with a small dent to the base of the bowl, no personal engraving to the terminal. The engraved decoration to the christening mug is in good condition, there are remnants of old polish visible to the recesses and there is also a large dent to the side of the body, the mug also wobbles and has taken a knock to the base. The inkwell is also heavily tarnished with remnants of old polish visible, no glass liner present and the rexine base is in poor condition. The hallmarks overall are clear and legible, the marks to the inkwell appear more worn.
