Lot 181

Lot Description

A 1930's silver gimble table lighter with tapered ivory handle and spherical lighter on plain gimble mount. Hallmarked London 1936, the maker's mark partly distorted probably Robert Pringle & Sons. Maximum length measuring 12 1/2 inches (32 cm).

Export issue: Yes

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The table lighter displays general scratches, marks and wear. The silver is quite tarnished. A screw is missing from one of the brackets meaning the gimbal is no longer balanced. The ball also displays some dents.  Fractures visible to the ivory with light patina.  The hallmarks are quite rubbed, particularly to the gimble mount, maker's mark partly illegible.
