Lot Description

George III silver caster of baluster form with personal initial engraving, reeded border, pierced diaper engraved detachable cover and raised above a square footed base. Hallmarked Crispin Fuller London 1799. Height measuring 5 ¾ inches (14.5 cm), weight 3 ozt (95 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Caster displays general wear, some tarnishing and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  There are several minor nicks and small surface dints.  The square base has several knocks so that a couple of the sides bend in slightly and it therefore wobbles a little when standing.  Some loss of detail to the diaper pattern detail on the detachable lid.  Also some loss of detail to the engraved monogram.  Some slight distortion to hallmarks but still legible.  Some contact marks and scratches to flange and also part hallmarks to flange are also legible.
