Lot Description
1930's silver trophy goblet with an all over hammered finish, the main bowl with decorative rim, engraved to one side 'Portsdown Lodge School Tennis Singles' and with winner's names to the other, raised above a tapering stem decorated with formalised leaves and other motifs and set with green paste cabochon stones, and leading to a spreading circular foot applied with four circular panels, relief decorated with intertwined fish. Hallmarked The Artificers' Guild Ltd., London 1931, also with Edward Spencer impressed mark to the underside. Height measures 7 3/4 inches (19.5 cm), gross weight 18.76 ozt (583.4 grams).

Condition Report
The goblet displays general wear and surface and scratches and some tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some deeper scratches in places and various minor nicks and some small surface dints. Remnants of polish in some areas. One green stone is missing. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but still legible. Edward Spencer mark is clear and legible.
