Lot Description

Dutch silver spoon, the plain wide bowl leading to a moulded stem with figurative terminal depicting a woman with two young children.  Four struck marks to reverse of bowl, a date letter, a possible maker's mark DG, three crosses mark and what appears to be a lion rampant below a crown.  Length measures 7 inches (18 cm), weight 45.2 grams.

Spoon displays general wear, areas of tarnishing and general surface marks, scratches and nicks/pitted marks in the metal.  Some loss of detail to the decoration.  There is also some solder visible around the rat tail, more prominent on one side.  Some distortion to marks.
