Lot Description

Early twentieth century Dutch silver spoon, the circular bowl with pierced decoration depicting a bird amidst foliage above a landscape scene showing a windmill to the fore and a sailing boat and other buildings in the background, within a floral and foliate engraved frilled rim, the slim wavy stem leading to a windmill terminal, date code for 1919;  together with another smaller and similar Dutch example with date code for 1917. Lengths measure 6 3/4 inches (17 cm) and 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm), combined weight 82.9 grams.

Both spoons display general wear and tarnishing, also various surface marks and scratches.  The decoration on both is generally still good and the windmill sails on both appear to be in working order.  Remnants of polish to both.  Marks are to the decorated bowls and those that are visible are legible.
