Lot Description

A Victorian silver bachelor coffee pot of bulbous form with vertical lobed decoration to the lower body. Hallmarked John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater London 1886. Maximum height measuring 5 1/2 inches (14.6 cm) weight 9.2 ozt (285.8 grams).

In overall good condition with general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. The heavier tarnishing appears in the crevasses and around the hinge of the lid. The base of the coffee pot has many of the usual scratched numbers and markings. The ebonised scroll shaped handle is in good condition and only worn slightly over time and after use. The hallmarks are visible and legible but rubbed, mainly to the makers mark. The hallmark to the lid is in similar condition. The lid does not quite sit flush.
