Lot Description
A George III silver Bosun’s whistle or call, the barrel shaped buoy bearing an anchor to each side, punch decorated keel with attached suspension ring and mounted pipe gun. Hallmarked London 1807 with the maker's mark J.B, tentatively attributed to John Brough. Length measuring 12 cm, weight 30 grams.

Condition Report
The Bosun's whistle displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. One side of the barrel has become compressed. Heavy tarnishing and deposits to the recesses. Small hole between the keel and tube. The tube displays some dents and an area of repair. The hallmarks are easily legible.
