Lot Description
A Victorian silver snuff box of rectangular form with a shaped rim, scroll border surrounding and engine turned decoration, the hinged lid with personal inscription opening to reveal a gilt interior. Hallmarked George Unite and Sons Birmingham 1876. Length measuring 6.3 cm, weight 1.7 ozt (54 grams).

Condition Report
The snuff box has general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The engraving in the cartouche is extensively rubbed and illegible to read. The ehgien turned decoration has aslo extensively rubbed with loss of detail to some areas of high contact. The hinge is in good working order and the gilding to the interior remains bright. The hallmarks to the inside of the box are very visible and legible.
