A William IV silver snuff box of oblong form with floral scroll chased edge, engine turned body and personal presentation engraving to the lid opening to reveal a gilt interior. Hallmarked John Tongue Birmingham 1836. Length measuring 7 cm, weight 1.5 ozt (47.8 grams).

Condition Report
The snuff box appears in good condition displaying light general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. The decoration remains crisp. The gilt interior displays general discolouration. The hinge is in good working order. The hallmarks a little distorted but legible. The presentation engraving reads ‘Presented to P.G. Henry Payne. By the members of the Victory Lodge No. 625 for his meritorious conduct 16th Dec 1837’.
