Victorian silver vinaigrette of rectangular form with a shaped scrolled rim, engraved to both sides with floral and foliate motifs, the cover with central vacant circular panel and opening to reveal a gilded interior and grille with pierced foliate detail. Hallmarked D & M, Birmingham 1876. Measuring 35 mm by 25 mm, gross weight 17.3 grams.

Vinaigrette displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Some minor nicks and deeper scratches in places and some slight loss of detail to decoration in some areas. Some wear and contact marks to gilded interior. Hinges and clasps in working order. Hallmarks clear and legible.
