Lot Description
Late Victorian silver pair of open salts, each of circular form with everted shaped rim decorated with trailing leaves and flowers, the main body embossed with various creatures amidst floral and foliate motifs, and standing on three lion mask and paw feet. Hallmarked West & Son ( Langley Archer West), London 1893. Maximum rim diameter measures 3 inches (7.5 cm), weight 3.6 ozt (112.8 grams).

Condition Report
Both salts display general wear, some tarnishing and various surface marks and scratches. Some deeper scratches in places and various minor nicks/dints in the metal. Both salts also display some pin prick holes in the metal at the point where the rim folds over. Some slight loss of detail to decoration and also remnants of polish visible in some areas. On one of the salts, one of the feet is slightly bent to one side. Some slight distortion to hallmarks but all still legible.
