A gem-set butterfly brooch. The old-cut diamond and oval-shape demantoid garnet body, to the circular-shape sapphire and ruby panel wings, with circular-shape ruby eye and antenna accents. Estimated diamond weight 1ct, tinted colour, SI2-P1 clarity. Length 4.6cms. Weight 8.6gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The pin is bent. The diamond appears bright, tinted light brown with feathers. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue for Coloured Gemstones. The demantoid garnet is a yellowish green hue, with large inclusions including brown surface reaching inclusions. Demantoid garnet dimensions 7.9 by 6.3mms, by 3.3mms deep. The rubies are moderately well matched, with dark purplish red and red hues. The sapphires are a medium, slightly greyish blue hue. The sapphires and rubies are mixed cuts with minor abrasion.
