Lot Description
Two early 20th century 9ct gold gem-set brooches. To include an alexandrite and seed pearl cluster brooch with replacement gold plated fitting, together with a 9ct gold circular turquoise cabochon and split pearl bow brooch. Estimated alexandrite weight 5.30cts. Lengths 4.3 and 3.2cms. Weight 8.3gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The alexandrite brooch has replacement rolled gold fittings. The alexandrite has a surface reaching needle inclusion, partially healed fractures and slight light silk inclusions. The alexandrite is a slightly brownish yellow hue under artificial light and a slightly yellowish green hue under daylight equivalent. The seed pearls are well matched with minor surface blemishes. The back of the mount where the rolled gold is attached shows soft solder. The turquoise are mottled greenish blue hues with minor matrix. The split pearls show general discolouration.
