Lot Description
A late 19th century continental gold sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Of marquise-shape outline, the graduated oval-shape sapphire line, within a vari-cut diamond surround, to the bifurcated shoulders and plain band. One colourless paste replacement. Weight 3.7gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to poor. There are scratches and areas of dark discolouration to the shoulders and parts of the band One sapphire is heavily chipped and there is abrasion to the facet edges of the others. The sapphires vary in colour, some with a far weaker saturation of colour. There are easily visible inclusions to all. The outer diamonds are various cuts, predominantly single-cuts with some are rose-cuts and some are old-cuts as well as one paste replacement. There are chips are abrasion to many.
