The Pickwick Christmas plate 1974, a silver-gilt plate depicting an etched scene of 'Pickwick at the slide' by Hablot Knight Browne ("Phiz") from Charles Dickens 'The Pickwick Papers'. Cased and with certificate confirming issue 116/200. Hallmarked Toye, Kenning & Spencer Birmingham 1974. Diameter measuring 10 inches (26 cm), weight 14.1 ozt (439 grams).

The plate appears in good overall condition displaying minor surface scratches, marks, wear and spots of tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The hallmarks are clear and legible. One of the clasps to the case has broken.
