Lot Description
Edwardian silver mounted dressing table set comprising a hand mirror, two hair brushes, a comb and a clothes brush, each silver mount heavily embossed with cherubs heads amongst floral, foliate and scrolling motifs and with central monogrammed cartouche, the comb varying slightly in decoration, all in a fitted velvet lined case. Hallmarked Jones & Crompton, Birmingham 1904 (the comb appears to be struck with two makers marks). Length of mirror measures 10 1/2 inches (26.5 cm).

Condition Report
Each silver mount displays general wear, some tarnishing and general surface marks and scratches. The clothes brush, comb and hand mirror are more heavily tarnished. There is some loss of detail to the decoration in places and various minor nicks and dints and a few small holes and cracks in the metal in some areas of the decoration. The hallmarks are difficult to find in the decoration but are all legible. The comb appears to have been struck with the J & C maker's mark over an earlier mark? The brush sections are quite worn and there is also wear and deterioration to the case.
