Lot Description
A large Victorian silver desk inkwell, the body of circular form with sunken ground, engraved borders and beaded rim, with central silver mounted cut glass inkwell conforming in design. Hallmarked Walter & John Barnard London 1881. Diameter measuring 10 inches (25.5 cm), gross weighable silver 14.3 ozt (445 grams).

Condition Report
The inkstand displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. More prominent scratches are visible to the main ground on the body. Marker pen number visible. There are some chips to the glass. The hinge to the inkwell allows sideways movement. Hallmarks to the inkwell mounts and the main body all match and appear clear and legible. Also numbered 761 to the underside.
