Condition Report
The case displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some deeper scratches are visible to some areas and various minor nicks in the metal all over. There is more wear around the edges and corners, where there is some loss of detail to the hammered surface and some small dints. Both hinged covers are in working order. Large darker area is visible to the interior and various other long scratches and marks. Marked twice to the interior, to the lid and base. The maker's mark is partly worn, but City mark is clear and legible.
Regarding the stones, one of the sapphires has a surface reaching internal fracture and abrasions to others are visible with the unaided eye. Inclusions are visible with the unaided eye. Sapphires have a slightly patchy saturation of colour. Diamonds are bright, but individual size and setting prevent accurate colour and clarity assessment.
