Lot Description

Nineteenth century set of five French game skewers of plain tapered form and shaped outline terminals and suspension rings. Hallmarked with the Minerva head, the maker's mark of JUGE and Bigorne mark to the reverse. Length measuring 8 1/4 inches (21 cm), gross combined weight 1.3 ozt (43 grams).

The French game skewers display general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Each meat skewer is also quite heavily dented and creased. Maker pen numbers to each. The hallmarks are clear and legible, the bigornes marks miss-struck.
