George III silver soup ladle in plain Old English Pattern.  Hallmarked London 1793, maker's mark W.S, possibly for William Sumner I.  Length measures 12 3/4 inches (32.5 cm), weight 4.87 ozt (151.5 grams).

Ladle displays general wear, surface marks and scratches and some tarnishing in keeping with the age and use.  Some deeper scratches in places and various minor nicks and pin prick marks in some areas.  The bowl has faired quite well but the metal does feel thinner and more malleable in places and there are some small surface dints visible.  Hallmarks are clear and legible.
