Lot Description

A George III silver mug of plain baluster form, scrolling handle with heart shaped finial and raised above a circular stepped base, AF. Hallmarked Joseph Lock London 1778. Height measuring 5 1/4 inches (13.5 cm), weight 10 ozt (312 grams).

The mug displays some obvious wear and tear being heavily tarnished, the top join of the handle has been repaired with obvious solder, the tip of the heart finial has broken off, the base has been compressed to the body and taken a few knocks wobbling on a flat surface. An engraving has been removed from the body. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
