Lot 468

Lot Description

A 1930's cased set of six silver teaspoons and pair of sugar nips with decorative pierced terminals, hallmarked Birmingham 1933, maker's mark CTB (nips have a different maker);  together with a cased set of six silver coffee bean spoons, hallmarked Arthur Price & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1930, and two similar cased sets of six silver teaspoons with flat top terminals, one set hallmarked Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1930, the other Sheffield 1948. Gross combined weight 6.55 ozt (203.6 grams) (4).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

There is general light tarnishing to most pieces, with slightly heavier tarnishing to the coffee bean spoons.  They also display light wear and surface marks and scratches.  The sugar nips are now quite bent and out of shape.  The spoon bowls have generally faired quite well, with a little bit more wear towards the tips.  A couple of the spoon bowls on the 1930's set are very slightly misshapen.  Hallmarks are mainly legible.
