Lot Description

A 1930's silver cigarette case of rectangular form with canted edge, with all over engine turned decoration in a herringbone style, hallmarked Frederick Field, Birmingham 1930;  together with a slightly larger rectangular example with rounded edge, hallmarked Charles S Green & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1939. Gross combined weight 13.88 ozt (431.6 grams). (2).

Both cases display some tarnishing, general wear and surface marks and scratches.  More wear to edges and corners and both have numerous deeper and longer scratches visible to both sides.  There is also some loss to the decoration in places, especially around the edges and in various other patches.  Various minor nicks all over and some small surface dints visible to both.  Hinges and clasps are in working order, although there are some small gaps when closed.  Hallmarks to both are clear and legible.
