Lot Description
Victorian silver cigarette case of oblong form, with central vacant scrolled cartouche to the front surrounded by vertical decorative panels to front and reverse, opening to reveal a gilded interior, hallmarked Edward Smith, Birmingham 1857; together with two smaller early twentieth century examples, hallmarked Birmingham 1919 and 1929. Gross combined weight 9.78 ozt (304.2 grams) (3).

Condition Report
All three cases display some tarnishing with some darker spots and patches, also general wear and surface marks and scratches to interiors and exteriors of cases, all commensurate with age and use. More wear to edges and corners and some deeper scratches visible to some areas. Slight loss of detail to decoration in places. Various minor nicks to all three and some small surface dints visible to the smaller case. Hinges and clasps are all in working order and hallmarks are all legible.
