Lot Description
A Victorian silver cigarette case with foliate scroll decoration, the front case with central applied circular cartouche with initial engraving and opening to reveal a gilt interior with personal inscription. Hallmarked Frederick Marson Birmingham 1889. Height measuring 3 1/4 inches (8.5 cm), weight 3.3 ozt (68 grams).

Condition Report
The cigarette case displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor shallow dents. Some of the foliate engraving has rubbed with a little loss of definition. Gilding appears uneven. The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible.
