Lot Description
Edwardian silver mounted novelty pin cushion modelled as an elephant standing on all fours, trunk pointing down. Hallmarked Birmingham 1909, maker's mark mainly distorted but probably Adie & Lovekin Ltd. Length measuring 7 cm.

Condition Report
The silver mount displays general wear, some areas of tarnishing and general surface marks and scratches. Various minor nicks and numerous surface dints, to the main body and especially to the top of the head where there are also a couple of splits in the metal. Split in the metal to one of the ears. Slight loss of detail to decoration and also seam lines visible around the tops of each leg. Replacement fabric. Maker's mark very distorted, hallmarks are little rubbed but still legible.
