Pin shows French makers mark, slightly rubbed, possibly H Fres with a small star. The Aucoq box bears no relation to the brooch. The box is in good condition with small scuffs, mostly to the base and slight discolouration to the silk. The inner lining covering the hinge is split and mostly deficient.
