Lot Description
A late 19th century gold hardstone intaglio necklace. Designed as a series of seven cameos depicting Ancient Greek mythological figures and heroes, each within a 12ct gold collet mount, to the hardstone cameo clasp and period replacement 18ct gold belcher-link double chain. Length 44cms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. Section of chain AF, broken and deficient. The chain is a later, period addition, the cameos from another piece of jewellery from the same date. One section of chain between two of the cameos is missing. The tongue of the clasp is stamped 9c, with two partial marks. Some of the joining links are base metal. The cameos are mostly in good condition, with some minor nicks and scratches, the cameo to the clasp is heavily abraded. Total weight 52.5gms.
