Lot Description
An early 20th century 18ct gold sapphire and seed pearl brooch. Of openwork design, composed of a W initial within a curved surround, to the German Crown Prince crown surmount, with circular-shape sapphire and seed pearl detail. Length 3.2cms. Weight 5gms. With fitted Sy & Wagner case.
Sy & Wagner were the German court jeweller during the reign of Germany's last Crown Prince, Wilhelm.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. Moderate-significant tarnish/discolouration. The seed pearl is a creamy white body colour with good lustre and noticeable ringing. The sapphires are a slightly greyish blue hue with minor abrasions. The box shows minor wear to the velvet and slight discolouration. There is a gilt crown to the top of the box.
