Lot Description
A late 19th century 18ct gold gem-set lizard brooch. Designed as two circling lizards, each with a rectangular-shape green-gem head and circular-shape red-gem eyes, to the split pearl floral detail. French assay marks. Length 5.2gms. Weight 7.3gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in fair overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The pin hinge is later replacement with small soft solder visible, the pin is a base metal replacement. The flowers to each of the lizards tails have been re-soldered and are loose, one with replacement drilled seed pearl, the other with replacement white plastic gem. The gemstones have small nicks and have dark red glue-like substance to the edges. There are shallow file marks to the edges of the back of the brooch and a deep gouge to the top of one of the lizards.
