An early 20th century 9ct gold treated opal brooch. The oval treated opal cabochon, suspended from a circular and oval treated opal cabochon three-stone surmount, to the plain bar. Length 5.2cms. Weight 3.3gms.

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. Stamped 9ct. Significant wear to the gilt finish. Pin base metal, may be replacement. The opals are smoke treated and in closed back settings to enhance their play of colour. The drop has a small indented matrix section. The play of colour is good with green and reddish orange predominating.
