Lot Description

A good 19th century continental bijouterie casket, the rectangular gilt metal framed case containing five enamelled bowed metal panels each with a blue ground and decorated with roses and flowers within black banded, scrolled and simulated jewelled borders, the hinged cover lifting to reveal a padded blue silk lined interior

Gilt frame is dull with signs of surface rubbing and wear. All panels have losses to the applied simulated jewels. The one end panel has a chip. The other end panel has a crack. Top panel has a small crack. Lining in good condition with only one small mark
