Joseph Edward Southall, RWS, NEAC, RBSA, (1861-1944).
'The Inn at Hatton',
A country inn with cattle and hens in the fields before,
watercolour, signed with monogram and dated 1930 lower left,
inscribed title verso over price £18-18-0 and stamp with artist's address
"JOSEPH SOUTHALL 13 CHARLOTTE ROAD EDGBASTON BIRMINGHAM",
and 'Not for Sale' label verso,
7.25" x 10.5", (18.5cm x 26.5cm),
in an Arts & Crafts style giltwood frame with flowerhead medallion decoration.
Joseph Southall was leader of the Birmingham Group of Artist-Craftsmen, and joined the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in 1898, becoming its President in 1939.
