Italian School, early 19th century.
A bust-length portrait of a monastic Saint,
possibly St. Francis of Assisi,
depicted facing to dexter with head raised and arms crossed,
'sunburst' halo behind, within an oval floral wreath,
oil on oak panel, unsigned,
printed inventory number and indistinct red pencil annotations verso,
9.75" x 7", (25cm x 18cm), unframed (at fault)

Condition Report
A 3" x 1" triangular loss to upper right corner. Two vertical splits to panel. Old loss to lower edge. Generally rough to edges and corners. Superficial scratching and some flaking, including across portrait. 'I' shaped bearer verso.
