Lot Description
A mid 18th century oak bureau having a sloping fall panel front with brass escutcheon, enclosing a fitted interior with 'barrel back' central cupboard, between reeded quadrant column fronted book drawers, flanked by curved valances, pigeonholes and drawers. The front with three short overlay cock-beaded drawers with shaped brass handles and escutcheons on bracket feet. 33" wide x 2.5" deep x 42.5" high, (106cm x 54.5cm x 108cm)

Condition Report
Loss to top edge of slope above escutcheon, and plate to corresponding front edge of top. top has small patch to back left corner plus general knocks to back edge. Interior is missing one balance drawer and has a split to writing surface. Slope lock is replaced and skiver is replaced. Front generally very good except old scars to the bottom of slope where old screws used to secure previous hinges (now patched to interior)
