Lot Description

Victorian silver mounted scent bottle, the large spherical cut glass body to the floral and scroll silver mount with floral embossed hinged domed lid. Hallmarked Birmingham 1899, maker's mark indistinct, different hallmarks to the inner lid. Height measuring 6 inches (15 cm).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Minor chips visible to the glass. debris visible under the silver mount. The lid is a possible replacement, with the lion passant a different date letter 'A' and the maker's mark CB visible. The hinge is loose, allowing sideways movement, solder also visible to the hinge. The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible. No stopper.
