Lot Description
Continental pair of vases of inverted baluster form with frilled rim, and a similar bulbous shape sugar bowl, all with niello style decoration depicting scenes of the River Nile, and all with the same inscription 'To F.L & Mrs Reid from the Officers of A.H.Q Iraq 11.3.50', height of vases measures 7 3/4 inches (19.5 cm); together with a small rose bowl, a plated butter dish, a pair of condiments and a small purse. Condition Report
The lot appears in a varied state generally displaying surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Areas of much heavier tarnishing and discolouration. Construction seams visible. Numerous dints and dents, specifically to the foot of the vases, condiments and the feet have been pushed in to the sugar bowl. The pair of condiments are weighted, look a little tired and -particular damage to one finial.
