Victorian silver claret jug of pear form with narrow elongated neck and scroll handle, raised on a circular footed base. Hallmarked Johnson, Walker & Tolhurst Ltd (Walter Walker & Brownfield Tolhurst) London 1888. Height measuring 11 1/4 inches (28.5 cm), weight 15.9 ozt (497 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous minor dints and bumps visible. Join line at the bellied part of the body has become visible with some areas of repair also visible. Slight knock to the foot. The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible, maker's mark to the neck and underside appears distorted/overstamped.
