Lot 406

Lot Description

Late Victorian silver cased set of six teaspoons, each with a spiral twist stem leading to a terminal modelled as a Boer War gentleman.  Hallmarked William Devenport, Birmingham 1899.  Combined weight 1.2 ozt (37.3 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The spoons display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  The spiral twist stems are very slim and are a little bent in places.  The metal on the spoon bowls is quite thin but they have generally faired quite well.  However one of the bowls is quite dinted and misshapen towards the tip.  The hallmarks are all clear and legible, they all also have a registration number.  Some deterioration to case.
