George III silver Irish Old English pattern straining spoon with bright cut engraving to the stem, vacant oval cartouche and star to the terminal, initial engraving 'MC' and 5:3 to the heel. Hallmarked Michael Homer Dublin 1778. Length measuring 12 1/2 inches (32 cm), weight 5 ozt (158 grams).

In very good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Light wear to the definition on the heel. Minor dints to bowl. Engraving remains crisp. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
