Lot Description
Early twentieth century silver mounted small decorative picture, of oval form and depicting a young girl seated by the side of a river surrounded by rocks and with reeds in the background, her dress, hair band and the water all formed from butterfly wings, the silver mount with egg and dart style border and fitted with a hinged stand. Hallmarked Thomas Lynton Mott, Birmingham 1922. Height of oval measures 4 inches (10 cm).

Condition Report
The item displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. There are some fairly large scratches to the silver reverse, also some minor nicks and a notable dint to one side. Remnants of polish are visible around the border. Some rubbing and distortion to the hallmarks but they are still just legible. There are some small areas of damage to the picture, mainly in the dark background. There are also a few deeper scratches and nicks to the glass front.
