Lot Description
Late Victorian silver mounted purse of plain rectangular form with rounded corners, later decorated to the front with an enamelled head and shoulders profile portrait of a Middle Eastern man in traditional attire, the purse opening to reveal a lined interior with two compartments. Hallmarked George Unite & Sons, no Assay mark but likely Birmingham 1892. Measuring 3 7/8 inches (10 cm) by 2 3/4 inches (7 cm).

Condition Report
The purse displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous deeper scratches visible to both sides and minor nicks and pitting marks. Some slight surface dints are visible, mainly to the corners. Remnants of sticker to reverse. Hinge and clasp are in working order although there is a gap when closed. Some damage and discolouration to the blue material lining. Hallmarked only with date letter, lion passant and maker's mark, these are rubbed but still legible.
