Lot 50

Lot Description

Edwardian silver pair of bud vases, each of plain slightly tapering form with a wide everted rim pierced with stylised motifs, raised above a spreading circular base.  Hallmarked Birmingham 1901, maker's mark 'C H'.  Approximate height measures 6 1/4 inches (16 cm), weight 7.75 ozt (240.9 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both vases display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Deeper scratches and minor nicks/dints visible to some areas.  The pierced rims on both display some knocks and dints and are therefore a little misshapen.  Seam lines visible to main body.  On both, the bottom of the vase is pushed into the base slightly, this is more apparent on one of them creating creases in the metal.  On this same vase, the base rim is knocked and dinted so that it now wobbles when standing.  Some slight rubbing and wear but the hallmarks are still legible.
