Condition Report
The case displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. More wear to the rounded edges and corners and also various minor surface dints visible, to edges and also to the main body. Deeper scratches visible to the initialled and crested panel. There are two possible repairs, one area on the lid, to one side of the foliate decoration, where there is a flood of solder visible and loss of detail to the decoration. The other area is on one of the rounded sides, as there is solder visible to the interior. The hinges are in working order, however there is still a slight gap when closed. Contact marks to flange. The maker's marks are partly distorted, but other hallmarks are clear and legible.
